You know what you are getting and it is the rooms are warm, well kept and the location is excellent.
Car park is a bit small/crmaped and no gym, but Bute park is opposite for running during the day.
One lift not working - One small lift remaining.
rooms were expensive and breakfast was extra and no cash was taken in residents bar but charged to room making it even more expensive.
Short walk to St David's Hall and St David's Centre
The hotel seemed a little tired and needed updating
convenient for city centre clean and comfortable quite convenient for rail station
nothing in particular although I didn't bring a car so I'm not sure how much parking is available
First time in the holiday inn I stay in cardiff often so when booking I knew location was great so close to the main shopping avenues and across from the castle and bute park so we had a lovely view to wake up to. Room was huge and very clean and had everything we needed.
Arrived at 1.45 and as check in wasnt until 2pm were told to have a seat in the bar until the room was ready and someone would come and get us not that big a deal only after 45mins no one had come near us so when we went back to the desk our room was indeed ready.annoying that we had been told to wait for someone to get us then clearly forgotten about when we had people waiting on us. Ordered room service and the full order didnt arrive and what did arrive wasnt exactly what was described on the menu
the proximity to the town centre was excellent whilst the room was also very quiet
Hello, I stayed at your hotel one night only and found the bedroom too hot for comfort, rang down to reception and they sent up a fan by which time we discovered another fan already in the room, so must be a problem with the heating. phoned twice and asked to change room but was never taken up on the request As the windows hardly open and of course with the noise of traffic we suffered a very uncomfortably hot night and had to havee the fan on all night - more noise. A bit disappointed but the breakfast was quite nice and didnt think it was worth complaining in the morning as we were on our way home.
The reception staff were very friendly, room had a great view of the castle and park, great location for shopping.
The bed linen was not changed and the bed, when it was remade, was messy.
It's location was brilliant, right opposite the Castle and the Waterbus stop so we could get into Cardiff Bay in a relaxing and interesting way. Could also go for a walk in Bute Park but then the shops, bars and restaurants were a five minute walk away too. Although we couldn't get a twin room for the first night the staff were great and Daniel organised our rooms to be swapped into twins and arranged for our bags to be moved too. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and good value. Would definitely visit again.
Space in the carpark was at a premium, but we were lucky enough to get the last space on the Friday night.

It's a very good price for a hotel in the centre of Cardiff. We liked the room out the back and the room was large. We used to stay in a hotel very near here, until they gave us a very small room - they lost our custom and now we are a regular of this hotel which we are very happy with. It's the perfect place to stay if your looking for a shopping trip, a night out or a romantic time with your other half. There is plenty to do to keep you busy in the Cardiff centre. Going to book again for our Easter break from the kids.
Asked to be ungraded as a regular here, and have enrolled in their points scheme. Room ended up a lot smaller than previously given. We asked to change room as over looking the main road and it was very noisy, we were then given the same basic room we have on our last visit and this ended up being a lot bigger than the upgraded one and out the back which was quiet.
